I love mornings in the marina. The whole trip is ahead of us and the possibilities are endless. If we are lucky, the sun is shining too. This morning we were lucky. We set off at about 10am after a Marcus cooked breakfast of bacon, vegetable burgers (don’t ask!!) and baked beans. An uneventful trip to Gailey, we were just enjoying the sun on our backs and the waterproofs in the cupboard. A quick stop for diesel and then we were heading down the upper Staffsand Worcester. A lot of locks in our favour, as most boats seemed to be going in the opposite direction.
Some beautiful places along this section, made all the more so by the leaves on the trees and the flowers on the hedgerows.
Before we left home, I planted a small trough with Geraniums and it looks just great on Harebell’s roof. 
Looking forward to getting some more plants on the top, just because I can. James wants to put the Harebell’s that we have sown on the roof too, but they seem so delicate, I’m not sure they’d be happy with the buffeting they might get.
I also made a quiche and it was bloody delicious. Time consuming but far better than the tasteless watery stuff that supermarkets produce.
By the time we had gone through Deptmore lock, the day was drawing to a close and the decision was made to not try for the T&M but to moor just the other side of Tixall Wide. 
We found our previous mooring spot, but found the view somewhat more restrictive, due to the leaves on the trees blocking the distant viewpoints!!
Tired but happy crew and looking forward to the Caldon.
